Bittensor
A decentralized incentive layer that rewards contributors for providing compute, data, and services. Like Bitcoin, TAO had no premine and is capped at 21M tokens.
Subnets
Independent markets within Bittensor. Each subnet has its own alpha token and focuses on different tasks - from AI models to storage, compute, and data services.
Halving
Like Bitcoin, alpha tokens halve multiple times: at 10.5M (50%), 15.75M (75%), 18.375M (87.5%), etc. Each halving cuts emissions by 50%.
Emissions
Alpha tokens are minted each block and distributed to miners and validators. The rate shown is measured over 24h. After halving, rewards drop by 50%.
